Sishtas and Manus

Following are some stray comments on the Sishtas.
A period of evolution is called a Manvantara. It literally means
"between two Manus". The period opens with the Root Manu, and
ends with the Seed Manu.
An evolutionary period opens with an initial keynote or impetus
given by the Dhyani-Chohans, as architects. This initial inner
framework forms the blueprint or plans for the pathway of
evolution that follows.
Just before this impulse is given, there are the Sishtas, the
seeds or remainders of humanity from the previous Round. The seeds
are capable of germination and growth into life, but have been in
a dormant state.
Just as a seed requires stimulation -- light and water -- to take
it out of the dormant state and to start to grow, so does the
sleeping humanity on earth, the Sishtas.
Individually, the human Sishtas would be born, live lifetimes,
die, go through their after-death states, then be born again. They
are subject to reincarnation and life their lives on this earth.
What has been lacking, though, is the challenge of evolution. The
human lifewave has been focused elsewhere, on another Globe, and
life on our earth, Globe D, has been like a sleepy, golden age
where everything is easy, always seems to go right, and there is
no challenge to learn, grow, and become something more than one
already is.
They are full human beings, having all their seven principles. And
they are advanced humans, being among the highest of humanity of
the previous Round. But on our earth, the collective drive, the
archetypal impetus to grow and evolve is missing.
It is alike, to a degree, a student going to class during the
summer, where the day is occupied by arts and crafts, recreation,
and study hall, and there is no regular lesson plan that must be
followed.
When we speak of the Seed Manu, we're talking about how,
collectively, the human lesson plan, the dynamic energy of the
human lifewave, the work of the architects of human evolution --
how this energy is withdrawn, hidden, unmanifest, not coming into
play. The inner drive *to evolve* of humanity is missing, and
humanity is in a seed-like state.
After a period of evolution on our earth, when the human lifewave
moves on to Globe E, and a majority of humanity starts to
reincarnate there, the humans that stay behind are called the
human Sishtas. They are left behind, or remainders. They now come
under the influence of the Seed Manu.
The Dhyani-Chohans, which oversee human evolution are given
collective names depending upon the type of evolution being
considered. There are Celestial Buddhas for the Rounds and
Celestial Bodhisattvas for the Globe Periods, for the evolution on
any particular Globe during a Round. Both Root Manu and Seed Manu
are names for their actions in other roles.
The human lifewave departs our earth, and the remaining humanity
comes under the influence of the Seed Manu. In the next Round, the
humanity lifewave approaches our earth again, and the population
of our earth again starts to swell.
As this happens, the keynote for the new cycle is given by the
Dhyani-Chohans. That keynote, as it emerges, can be considered
the Root Manu. We have something akin to the growing of roots,
where living things grow downward, into the darkness, seeking
nourishment.
This "growing downward" is a way of looking at the new
architecture coming into place, and starting to make itself felt
on lower planes, including the physical. It can symbolize the
remergence of latent and unmanifest powers and faculties. And it
might refer to the humanlife itself, firmly establishing itself
-- sinking roots into -- our earth again.
